As editorial page editor, I am responsible for the content and production of the opinion section of the newspaper. This includes the authorship of five to six editorials and a news round-up opinion column each week, as well as periodical op-ed columns. I manage the letters to the editor and all local and syndicated column content, and I supervise the daily production of the page. The editorial page editor’s role is one that demands leadership within the newsroom and the organization, and the ability to forge strong working relationships with public officials and readers.
Before my appointment as editorial page editor, I worked on the page for six years providing editorial content, and was directly responsible for the production of the page. I was also a contributor to Mixer, a monthly magazine published by the paper focused on college students and young professionals.
